AUCTION
SELLING
There
are two ways to sell your motorcycle: unreserved or reserved.
An unreserved motorcycle sells to the highest bidder. A 10% commission of the
selling price is charged, with no
consignment fee. On a reserved motorcycle you set the minimum selling price
(you do have the right to change your mind on the floor and accept the highest
bid). A 10% commission of the selling price is charged, and the consignment fee
is $100 if received by February 1st and $150 thereafter. There will be a $150
minimum commission charged. We reserve the right to refuse consignments with
unreasonable reserves or motorcycles deemed not suitable for the auction.
FEATURE BIKES
Feature bikes will be
good, collectable, (about $2000 or more in value) motorcycles consigned without
reserve. We will provide early spots in the auction and special
advertising. Sellers should pre-consign before Jan 20th and guarantee to bring
the bike to the auction. We need to have the bikes at the Edmunds Center by 12
Noon on Thursday for placement and evaluation.
* Feature bike consignors can take advantage of our
special early registration for them on Tuesday March 4th starting at 1PM.
TIPS FOR SELLING
Consign your motorcycle early so we can advertise it
for you. Send us a photo or two using a neutral background—like a white garage
door. We will have information cards available—does the bike run now? Did the
bike run when you parked it years ago?—and so on. Bring your bike to the
Center as early as possible, as buyers will be inspecting the motorcycles they
want to consider buying. Remember, too, that the earlier you bring your bike
in—the earlier number and placement in the sale it will have. Don't forget to
leave the key in the bike so we can run it for the buyers.
SELLERS
- CONSIDER THIS
Our
sales rate has been over 80% for years! This sale is an international event with
buyers coming from all over the world. Our buyers bid with the confidence that
they are buying at fair market value. Consider
registering your bike unreserved.
We will green tag it—this lets the buyers know that they can buy your bike at
fair market value. Unreserved bikes
always draw more interest and more bids, plus you also save the consignment
fee. If we receive your consignment before February 1st we will be able to
advertise your bike as selling unreserved—attracting more buyers
TITLES
You must have a good, transferable title in your name, unless you are a dealer,
or have a notarized power of attorney from the person who's name is on the
title. Example: if you have a title that is in "Fred Smith's" name, in order to
sell it, you must be Fred Smith, or
have a notarized power of attorney from
Fred Smith for you to sell it. We have power of attorney forms and will be happy to send them to you if you call. The only
exceptions will be vehicles that are considered "off-road" and do not come with
a title. If your state does not title old
bikes, then a registration in your name will serve as a title. If your state
will not title, or register your bike for you with the paper work you have, and
your bike is more than 10 years old, you may be able to purchase a title from a
title company. Try "Broadway Title Company" at 800-464-3222, or International Title
Service at 800-543-8626. We can not accept motorcycles with altered serial
numbers. Licensed, bonded Florida title agents will handle title transfers for a
very reasonable fee, guaranteeing you the proper paperwork.
